DANCE
The Z TRIBE is a group of diverse traditions in Native Culture blending together ancient and contemporary music and dance to celebrate the gathering of all people. The intention of this group is to awaken and uplift the circle of all who are present. Listeners, dancers, and musicians are all transported from a sense of differences into one common world.
Nino's flute lends both magic in stillness while playfully intertwining the mystery of motion and rhythm through various Native Dances. The highly honored "Men's Traditional" dance tells the stories of warriors experiences. Eagle feathers are used to evoke power, respect and praise. A more recently developed dance called "Woman's Fancy" also known as the Butterfly dance, exhibits intricate designs of multicolor as a symbol of beauty and ecstasy. The "Hoop Dance" expresses the nature of many animals through different shapes. The "Woman's Jingle" dance emerged from a message in a warriors dream showing away to heal.
The Z TRIBE is comprised of Nino Reyos, who dances and plays various flutes. He is a member of the Northern Ute and Laguna Pueblo Indian Nations. Other performers include a variance of diverse Tribes.
Performances will include music from Nino's CD 'Warrior of Time' produced by Native American Music Award Winner-- Douglas SpottedEagle.
